On Saturday, 13 October 2018, the elite auction of the Hannoveraner Verband took place. This was an exciting event for us not only because we are breeders of Hanoverian horses ourselves but also because one of our premium foals was accepted for the auction in Verden.
“Gretchen” is her name and she is the beautiful black daughter of the famous dressage stallion Grey Flanell. Her pedigree also features the illustrious names of De Niro, Sandro Hit and Donnerhall.
However, before the auction began, there was an impressive Gala show, which we were invited to attend. Especially the Baloon Dance and the Lower Saxony State Stud Celle performance impressed us. The Hannoveraner Verband is truly the place to be for horse lovers and equestrian sports professionals.
The auction began at 2 PM and because the foals came last we had to wait almost until the end to see the appearance of our precious Gretchen. Auction number 54, the bay stallion Quite Chacco (Chacco Blue – Stolzenberg – Athletico), was sold for an incredible 160.000€. The most expensive foal was Fabulosa (Depardieu – Wesley – Buenos Aires), which was auctioned off for 62.000€.
Our Gretchen achieved a respectable 9.000€. The auction catalogue mentioned her as dark bay filly but she is actually black. We also felt that Gretchen was not in top condition that day but we are happy for the German buyer who is now the owner of a beautiful and exceptional filly.
